2017 Girls Of AVN

Okay! I was waiting on my Vice AVN article to post this because there’s some crossover between this digital stuff and the film stuff I shot for Vice but it still isn’t up and it’s Friday and I wanna give you guys something to look at over the weekend so let’s do this.

I spent most of my time at the Adult Video News Awards in Vegas working on my Instaxxx book (just three days left to back it!) which means I did a TON of really quick photo shoots with girls. These served as excuses to work on other assignments as well like the Vice article I mentioned and this Mass Appeal Magazine article. But while I was doing those shoots I did a bunch of mini-digital shoots too and I packaged them all here in a massive 100 photo gallery of just babes at AVN. Let’s break it down.

I shot like 5 whole photos of Abigail Mac. We mostly worked on Polaroids but she was in my Mass Appeal article too. I took a handful of photos with this really cute cam gill named Stefanie Joy. We were hanging out in my friend’s hotel room and I shot her just sort of chilling. I with Melissa Moore while she was getting ready for a party and I randomly took one photo of her naked in a bathroom. It’s pretty funny so I included it. I tried to shoot a whole set of Bobbi Dylan but we were in a stairwell and we didn’t wanna get caught so we did it too fast. I still got a handful of nice shots, but a lot of slightly out of focus ones and shots of her blinking and stuff. Whoops.

Not sure why I decided this should be a paragraph break but I took a few photos with Ramona Flour in a parking garage at like 3am. I know Ramona because she is in charge of all the Chaturbate cam girls (and guys) so I have run into her at a bunch of events. She is real cool looking so was glad to do a quick thing with her. Blair Williams is one of my favorite people these days and she was really sick at AVN. I traded her some DayQuil in exchange for a quick photo shoot of her laying around her bed dying. I also shot some photos later that night of her getting ready for a party that she was too sick to go to.

For my next random paragraph break I shot Keisha Grey who is like the most attractive human I know. We met one year earlier and we got to shoot again this year. She is an insane person and climbed out onto the side of the Hard Rock completely naked. It was pretty amazing but it was freezing out there so she ran a bath first so when she got back inside she could just jump into it. I took photos of her in there too. Real cute.

Next up I was supposed to shoot Holly Beth but we had no idea where to shoot. Fortunately we ran into Hunny Daniels who said we could shoot in her room if it was okay with her roommates. They were down and three of us went up to her room. On the way we ran into two of Holly’s friends Jasmine Grey and Robin Mae. They wanted to shoot too.  Suddenly we had four naked girls in a room. That’s when Hunny’s roommate Jane showed up with a girl named Kissing High which seems like it might have been a stage name. She had epic boobs though. So I shot all six girls and it was great. I also did a full shoot with Holly as well.

Speaking of full shoots, I did do a few of them while I was in Vegas. I shot Holly like I mentioned and I also shot another cam girl named Moth. Moth is fucking amazing and I decided to post her full set exclusively to Girls of Driven By Boredom. It’s up now and you should check it out! I put a few teasers in this free gallery but you need to see the full Moth set!

Also included in this gallery are teasers from my full shoots with Taurus Angel and Jillian Janson. I shot so many photos of Jillian while we were filming a thing for Showtime’s AVN Awards program. It probably won’t air until the summer or something insane like that so I won’t be posting the photos until then, but I did shoot some Instax which I am sure will be shown on Showtime. She signed five of them and they are still available for sale from my Instax Kickstarter! Get them now!

AVN Nomination Party, New Merch & More

After being gone for nearly all of November I am finally back in NYC! I have so much to do this week and so much to get to so let’s get to it as quickly as we can! Make sure you read the whole thing!

First up is the photos from the AVN Nomination party that I shot more than a week ago in LA. I totally forgot to get these photos up but some of them were already up on the LA Weekly. This gallery has a LOT more photos and a lot of nudity. The party featured a wild performance from Ty Dolla $ign and a ton of my friends were nominated for awards so congrats guys.

Click here to see all the photos from the 2016 AVN Nomination Party at Avalon in Hollywood.

AVN Nomination Party

Speaking of people that were nominated for AVN Awards my friend Abella Danger was nominated for a ton of awards including Female Performer of the Year. Back in June I took some random photos of Abella in her bed filled with emjoi pillows. The photos were just shot with my on camera flash and are really mediocre from a technical standpoint, BUT they are still really fucking hot and a lot of them are honestly too explicit to post on this site anyway. Fortunately for you when I take mediocre but sexy photos they get uploaded to the Girls of Driven By Boredom which features all the girl photos you see on here, but also a lot of exclusive stuff including a lot more graphic shots that I never post on the main site.

Click here (and sign up) to see all these Abella Danger emoji pillow photos on Girls of DBB!

Finally I have some new merch to bring you guys!

The black on black Driven By Boredom snapback hats are back. I just got 10 of them made (well a dozen but I am keeping two) so they (hopefully) shouldn’t be around too long. Since I missed Black Friday and Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday and Ayn Rand Sunday I am gonna make the hats $3 cheaper and include an DBB enamel pin for free for the rest of this week!

Click here to get your DBB Snapback!

DBB Snapback

This brings us to the DBB Enamel pins! I just got some really awesome DBB Enamel pins in the mail. Most people charge $10 for enamel pins because they have no respect for you. My pins are just $6 (with free US shipping!) because margins on pins are fucking stupid and I can pretty much make my money back  as long as I sell like 20 of them. These things are super hip right now and clearly you need one so you can look as cool as all your friends. Did I mention you get one free with a DBB Snapback? Get on it.

2016 Girls Of AVN

This post is gonna solve a lot of problems at once so let’s get into it.

The first issue is that Driven By Boredom turned 15 yesterday and I totally forgot. That’s not really a problem that needs fixing but I figured I should at least mention it. I started this madness in 2001 and it’s amazing that not only is this website part of my life, but really the main part of my life. I started it because I went to a party school for college as a straight edge punk kid. There was no punk scene and all the social shit was based around bros drinking. I left after two years and went to art school but the two years that I spent hanging out in my dorm room in front of my computer  bored out of my mind paid off I guess.

Next up is that I have a bunch of random naked girl photos from my trip to Vegas for AVN I don’t really know what to do with. I did all that worked for Blacked and Tushy and didn’t have time to shoot a lot of other girls, but I did shoot a few things here and there. I decided to put together a small gallery of random photos from the week that didn’t really stand on their own.

The first day I was in Vegas for AVN I shot this girl named Yvonne in exchange for a ride to my hotel from the airport because I am a genius so we have a few of those shots. I took a few photos my friends Jenna Valentine and Josie Jacobs because they are the best and I was hanging out with them a bunch over the weekend. Josie’s pictures exist because there was a humidifier in Claire Robbins’ room and I thought I should take a photo or two using that for fun. Then Jenna wanted me to shoot a couple photos of her using her beauty light (she was doing make up for porn babes all weekend). I ran into Jesabella Marie from the Suicide Sirens in the casino and she was with Leya Falcon and another friend and I took a couple photos of the three of them and then shot Jesabella in the shower for a couple of shots. All of this was just random bullshit and not an actual shoot but it was fun. There’s also one photo of this girl Hunny Bearr cause she was with me when I ran up to my room to get new batteries or something so we took like three photos of her boobs cause why wouldn’t we? We meant to shoot again, but we never did.

Now on top of all that I also threw in a couple of photos that preview upcoming full shoots I did. I shot Samantha Bentley as per AVN tradition. Sam is the best and I will have a full shoot of her up one of these days. I shot Romance (who I have known forever but never really photographed) and her friend Phoebe Phelpz the last night I was in Vegas. They basically rolled around my hotel room while I half assedly took photos while watching the NFL Playoffs. It was pretty fun though cause I basically ended up getting a double lap dance while taking photos which is not the worst way to spend a Sunday afternoon. That shoot will be up one of these days too. And lastly I met this girl “Lil Brown Eyes” in LA right before I went to Vegas. She dates a porn dude named Bryan Gozzling and I hung out with them a lot at AVN. Bryan is a good dude and Lil Brown Eyes is really great to photograph. They are also in some sort of wild fetish relationship that involves a lot of pissing and vomiting and all sorts of stuff that I can’t really understand but is worth taking photos of. I shot a normal set of her and then I shot him torturing her (in a good way). I added a few photos of them, but you will be hearing a lot a more about all that soon.

Lastly, and maybe most importantly, Girls of Driven By Boredom is working again. I was having problems updating it for two weeks but it seems to be functional now. To make that up to subscribers I have uploaded a LOT of new high resolution content.

  • I added all the Blacked & Tushy photos including a bunch of extra explicit shots.
  • I added a full set of Yvonne’s photos.
  • I added a full set of Jesabella Marie’s photos.
  • And I added some actual porn! Leya Falcon blew her boyfriend while we were all hanging out and I took photos. Normally I wouldn’t post those shots but they are pretty fucking wild and I want people to spend money on Girls of DBB so fucking sign up to see this shit. It’s probably worth it. Just saying.

Okay, this post is way too long but I had a lot to see. Go sign up for Girls of DBB and then click the link below.

More AVN Madness

I have slept about 3 hours a night for the past five days. I haven’t exactly had a ton of time to update this, even quick blasts. I took the day off and tried to get a little sleep and have been editing (and captioning) photos for the past four or five hours. Good times. I want to get all my photos from the Adult Entertainment Expo and the AVN Awards up as soon as possible but I don’t think I am going to be able to do it today. So here are some more previews of upcoming stuff…

My trip got sort of fucked up because my friend Ronen got pick pocketed by a couple and their chihuahua puppy. I spent one night filing reports and then the next day trying to get the phone back. Ronen tracked the phone down to this mildly terrifying project and there were cops arresting someone as we were pulling up. Apparently they were on their way to a domestic disturbance in the complex while someone robbed a convenient store. They told us they couldn’t help because they had five cases in that area to deal with. They told us to call the cops.  We actually saw the people who stole it and Ronen confronted them and after a bunch of back and forth they actually told us to look under some rocks and the phone was there. Slightly damaged but working. Fucking insane.

Aside from that I have been shooting a ton of girls. Unfortunately I didn’t have a lot of location options so I shot pretty much everyone in the parking deck of the hotel or this one lockable bathroom I found. I did shoot Ava Dalush at my hotel so that stuff is really lovely but the rest is mostly just kinda grungy fun stuff in public places. Here are some highlights… more coming soon obviously.

2014 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo

Sorry for the delay in posting this stuff. I have been without reliable internet for the last few days which is pretty much the worst thing to happen to my life in weeks which is a testament to how awesome my life is. Finally I am back in NYC from my 10 days in Vegas and LA and I can’t wait to be back. I don’t have any trips planned until March so I am looking forward to some time at home. Anyway…

I shot a little bit of the 2014 Adult Entertainment Expo on Friday and Saturday but most of these pictures came from last Thursday when I was down at the Expo for several hours. I spent the day saying hi to friends and planning photo shoots for Friday and Saturday. I ended up shooting seven girls for Hustler Magazine’s AVN feature and once I was in LA I shot a couple other girls for this site so I got a lot of good content out of the trip! Plus I shot another feature for Hustler on the burlesque troop Suicide Sirens… but more on that later.

The Expo is a fan and trade expo that takes place at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas every year that leads up to the AVN Awards. It gets pretty claustrophobic in there but it’s really fun to photograph weird interactions between porn babes and awkward fans. It’s sort of the best part of the whole contention. Speaking of fans, I got stopped by this dude Alvin who was with my friend Ash Hollywood and he was wearing my Mishka NYC shirt with her on it. He had us both sign it. It was pretty awesome.

So yeah, there are a lot of pictures in this gallery and obviously the photos are NSFW. So go look at them and stuff. Highlights below.

Hustler AVN Issue Outtakes

Back in January during the AVN Awards in Vegas I did some sort of photo documentary of the “behind the scenes” of the awards and the Adult Entertainment Expo for Hustler Magazine. The issue came out on Tuesday and you should clearly go buy it. It has 15 of the raddest babes in porn including a bunch of girls I have photographed before like Ash Hollywood, Veruca James, Katie St. Ives, Eve Cates and of course Skin Diamond & Asphyxia Noir and while in Vegas I shot mini shoots with Alaina Fox and Sovereign Syre that I have already published. It also features a bunch of girls I have never photographed before but always wanted to shoot like April O’Neil, Charlotte Stokely, Sasha Pain, Ela Darling and the amazing Stoya!

The shoot with Samantha Bentley and Lexi Lowe didn’t make it into the issue because of messed up paperwork.  I aslo shot Kimberly Kane for the issue but we had to cut some pictures for space so she was the first to go because she is pretty much the person I am closest to in life so I knew she wouldn’t care if she made it in or not. I was right.

Anyway, I did bigger shoots with a bunch of people that I will be posting in the future, but in the case of Stoya, Veruca, Katie, Evelyn and KK I only shot a few photos of them each so I put them all together in one gallery and decided to post it today to promote the issue. So go buy it!

And then click here to see outtakes of Stoya, Veruca James, Katie St. Ives, Eve Cates and Kimberly Kane from my AVN Awards “behind the scenes” editorial in the August 2013 issue of Hustler Magazine!

Dylan Moore Is Back

When I was in Vegas for the AVN Awards I found a staircase in a parking garage I really wanted to photograph someone naked on. I spent two days trying to make that happen but people were busy and it was a long walk in heels. I ran into my friend Dylan Moore (who you can see more of here) at the ALF party and we talked about shooting again, so when I ran into her as the tradeshow was ending the next day I asked her if she wanted to hit that stairwell, and we did it.

But after that we decided to go back to her hotel to take even more photos. I couldn’t stay long but we took a bunch of fun photos that you are hopefully about to look at. She did splits on furniture, she jumped off of TV stands (she moved the TV), she changed twice and I just captured the madness. I honestly barely got out of the chair and she did all the work which is honestly my favorite type of shoot. Sometimes when I am shooting in a hotel room after shooting other shit all day, I just want to lay down and try and find reasons to shoot from the hotel bed. Yes I am that lazy, but also it makes butts look good so everyone wins.

Also, I haven’t shot any nudes since this Vegas trip. It sucks. I don’t know what to shoot in North Carolina and I went to NYC on the weekend before 4th of July and everyone was out of town. I need to get back to LA soon just to shoot (and see my newborn niece) but in the meantime I am just stretching out the NSFW content I do have. I still have one more shoot to go, and it’s a good one. But it’s also of Dylan from the first time we shot. So I need to find at least one more shoot to post before I post those right? So if anyone knows any naked people within two hours of Wilmington, NC, let a guy know. I am not ready to retire quite yet.

As per usual, all these photos are gonna be on my pay site, Girls of Driven By Boredom. I realize I just told you that I won’t have anything new for a bit, but I am gonna start reuploading old shoots there in high res, but there are also tens of thousands of nudes on there already so sign up. Thanks!

Remembering My Hero: Doug Sakmann

When I found out my friend Doug died, it didn’t fully hit me right away. I have lost far too many friends and when I first found out I though that maybe I was just permanently broken. The sadness I felt was more about the pain of life, how unfair it was for another one of my people to be gone, than it was the pain of his death. Later that day I found out another, less close, friend had died and the sadness I felt was compounded by the guilt for not feeling more.

That night I went to dinner with my girlfriend and this pressure of sorrow was weighing me down. She wanted to talk to me about Doug, who she never got to meet, but I didn’t want to talk about anything. I didn’t even want to eat. But I couldn’t not talk about Doug and I started telling her story after story about our friendship and how much he meant to my life and I broke down in the restaurant, crying into my food. I was just glad to be feeling something.

I found out that Doug died a week ago, but I couldn’t write this post for so many reasons. I didn’t want to break down again of course, but I also had just so many things to tell you about Doug, so many stories, so many ways he impacted my life, I didn’t know how to do it. I wrote over 1200 words and deleted almost all of it because it just felt like a review of our friendship, just a list of things with links to old blog posts like footnotes in a research paper. It didn’t feel right, so here I am starting over again. Doug deserves that, and our mutual friends reading this deserve that. I have sadly become known for posts like these, and it helps me process, but I know how much these posts have meant to other people and I need to get this right.

So let’s start at the beginning, skip to the end and then just write some more.

RIP Doug Sakmann

My friendship with Doug starts more than 20 years ago during the very early days of this website. I started it in 2001 and very quickly it became popular enough that I realized I could get free stuff if I blogged about it, so I would reach out to companies I loved and often would get sent products. One of those companies was Troma, a low budget, b-horror film studio that I am going to assume you are familiar with if you are reading a post about Doug.

In 2002 Troma sent me a VHS screener copy of a documentary called All The Love You Cannes. The movie was about the Troma team trying to get the word out about their company at the Cannes Film Festival by any means necessary. They caused absolute chaos and the star of the film was a man named Doug Sakmann who managed to get kicked out of his hotel room and piss off (and on) his own coworkers with his insane behavior. It was so goddamn funny and 22 year old me was obsessed. After I wrote about the movie I emailed the link to Troma and I realized the guy I had been emailing with was the same Doug as the one in the movie. I told him he was my hero.

From then on we stayed in touch, but it wasn’t until 2006 when I moved to NYC that we met at a Halloween party where he was hosting his “world’s most dangerous game show” Strip for Pain. By that point he had left Troma and moved to Philly to start his own company, Backseat Conceptions, but he would come up for events all the time and I made sure to see him pretty much every time he was in town. Never once did we live in the same city but we became very close and he impacted my life in so many huge ways despite the distance.

Doug & Me The Night We Met

Doug would come up at least twice a year to throw the NYC Zombie Crawl and as long as I was in town would photograph it, most of the time for free, despite hating it. The first few were a blast and I got crazy photos, but how many times can you photograph the same thing before you hate coming home sticky and smelling like pancake syrup from all the fake blood. Still, I would do anything for Doug and it was a chance to see him and we always talked about doing a zombie crawl book together.

After the pandemic Doug stopped doing zombie crawls. Events were canceled for a long time and by the time they came back he was dealing with his own losses in life. I injured my back, got wifed up and stopped going out so even if Doug was in town I am not sure I would have made it out. I still kept in touch with Doug via social media and the occasional text but I hadn’t heard his voice until a few weeks ago when he called me to tell me the Zombie Crawl was coming back and he wanted me to send him a bunch of photos for a gallery show around the event. He told me he was finally getting out of his depression after losing his brother and wanted to start doing things again. We talked about new Troma movies and a touring gallery show and finally doing that zombie crawl book. It was so great to hear from him and we talked for a really long time.

It took me a while to go through all my zombie photos but I sent him an edit of a few hundred. It took him a while to get the selects back to me and it took me a while to edit them and send him the high res photos. I finally got them back to him almost exactly one week before he died. On June 23rd, three days before his death I landed in NYC at 9am. It was the day of the Mermaid Parade, an event I somehow never photographed in all the years I lived in NY. I was gonna go with my friend Mike but he had an emergency and couldn’t make it and I was exhausted so I just took a nap instead of going all the way out to Coney Island. The next day I saw Doug posted on Instagram that he was at the parade. If only I had seen it I would have been there in a second, spending one last day with my friend I hadn’t seen in way too long. But I didn’t see it and I cannot tell you how much I regret it. Tears are bouncing off my keyboard just thinking about it.

Doug Sakmann & Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD

In my early days of living in New York I called Doug while he was on his way home from the AVN Awards where he got kicked out of another hotel for chaotic behavior. He had drunkenly punch a slot machine and they kicked him out even though he paid for the machine. He decided to come back wearing a fake mustache and they arrested him. It seemed hilarious to me at the time. I was really jealous of someone who could just be so punk rock and not give a fuck. He didn’t have a care in the world about any of it. I turned that phone call with him into an interview I titled Doug Sakmann: American Hero.

Doug really was my hero. When we first met it was because he was an absolute maniac and I loved that. I have so many great Doug stories from those days but as crazy as Doug was, what made him my hero was his ability to get everything done in the midst of all that chaos. I remember the exact moment my whole view of Doug changed. It was 2008 and I came to Philly for the Basckseat Film Festival he was throwing. We spent all night partying with porn stars and doing god knows what. At some point Doug passed out and I was a little worried because he had a film festival to run. I was totally sober but he was the one who woke me up the next morning and he was a completely different person. I spent the morning with him and just watched him run the festival like a goddamn professional. He was so impressive to watch, commanding an army of volunteers despite being on three hours of drunken sleep.

Late during zombie crawls one minute Doug would be swinging off a light post spraying fake blood out of a Super Soaker on to the crowd below and the next minute he would be inevitably be talking to the police, assuring them that all of this was absolutely normal. I have never met anyone so out of control and so in control at the exact same time. He invited me to be in a Troma movie in 2018 and I couldn’t make it on the dates they needed me, but I did spend a day as an (unpaid) extra just for the experience. Doug was running the show, making Lloyd Kaufman’s job as easy as possible, while also setting off insane special effects. It was this ability to create order out of chaos that made me hire him as a produce for every ad campaign I have ever done.

Send More Cops...

If you knew Doug, you don’t need me to tell you this but Doug wasn’t just fun, he wasn’t just a good producer, but he was also about the nicest friendliest dude you could imagine. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. Every post I have read memorializing him has talked about how wonderful of a fucking human he was. His last ever text to me was wishing me happy birthday and telling me that he loved me. I was on a midlife crisis, self loathing birthday shit and didn’t even bother to text him back. We are almost the exact same age and his birthday is coming up and I won’t even be able to repay the favor, but I hope he knows how much I loved him. Fuck, there are those tears again.

This post is almost 2000 words at this point and I still want to drop you guys a bunch of links so you can go back and look at all the fun times we had together. I documented almost all of it. I just want to tell you how much he impacted my life. He introduced me to one of my first friend groups in New York even though he wasn’t even living there. He’s the reason I went to the AVN Awards for the first time which completely changed my career. He introduced me to Lloyd Kaufman who is another hero of mine, and because of that connection I got to shoot my only Village Voice cover despite freelancing there for a decade. I partied with Jackasses, movie stars, porn stars and professional eaters with Doug. We got our logos tattooed to each other. He snuck me into Comic Con, he booked the best show of my short lived musical career, and he even convinced me to go to a fucking baseball game. I should also note, that my website is deeply broken so many of the galleries don’t work, but at least you get the stories and some of the pictures.

It took me almost a week just to get started with this post and then four more days to finish it. I spent hours just looking for photos of Doug, trying to find a handful without zombie makeup on him. I have so few photos of him when he wasn’t “on”. I think part of that was the nature of our relationship, 90% of the time we hung out it was at some big event, or we were working. I guess I just wasn’t shooting photos during the downtime. I only found a couple of photos of him and I together. He was always in front of the camera, and I was always behind it. I fucking miss you so much man. I am so fucking sad your gone, and I am so sorry I didn’t text you back telling you how much I loved you too.

Click here to see over 100 photos I have taken of my brother and hero Doug Sakmann over the years.

RIP Doug Sakmann
