Somehow I have not updated in two weeks. I am not sure how that happened but I guess during this pandemic time has kinda ceased to exist. I also had another update ready to go, but it was never published for reasons I honestly don’t even want to get into right now, but whatever, I got a good one for you and it’s a lot of photos so rejoice.

My friend Scout introduced me to her friend Carmen who used to live in NYC and in pre-pandemic times used to come here all the time. On her last visit I went over to her hotel room and we shot a ton of photos and ate ramen and hit it off real well and I was sure I would be taking her photo all the time, but then like two weeks later the world ended so I haven’t seen her since obviously, but hopefully we will get to shoot again one day. This was the second to last shoot I did since all this started.

I have of course done some shoots over the last few months and I only mention that because I want to plug the shoot I did with my friend Bianca that is only on Girls of DBB. The shoot that I never published on here is also up there. It’s a really good one, so might be worth signing up just for that. There also happen to be a bunch of bonus shots of Carmen up there because her butt is real rad and I took a bunch of photos of it that are honestly a little too NC-17 for this site. 

Also I just uploaded two videos of her to my OnlyFans that were honestly accidents. I tried to film her jumping on the bed naked or something dumb like that but I hit stop instead of record and we ended up with nothing, but there’s a better video of her on there somewhere, you just gotta find it. It might take you a while BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH GOD DAMN INCREDIBLE CONTENT, or not. Okay, I am gonna stop promoting this shit now, but like now that the $600 a week unemployment thing is over I don’t really have any other way to pay rent so here we are.

Back in January when I was in LA I was a little frustrated with some shoots that had been canceled and feeling like I was spending a bunch of money being out there and not getting enough work done. Fortunately I did one shoot that I think made up for all of it. I drove out to some decommissioned military base on the coast with Aiden Ashley and Leda Bear and we did a really epic shoot both at the base and then down on the shoreline. I think we got some great stuff, and we shot so much stuff that I am actually breaking it up into two parts.

The first part that I am bringing to you guys today was at the military base that no longer exists. There was almost no one there, but you could see us from all directions so we had a look out helping who would yell to us if anyone was coming and they would cover up real quick or hide. It worked out pretty well and we were able to shoot there for maybe 20 minutes or so before escaping. I shot a ton of Instax and 35mm stuff too so be on the lookout for work from this shoot to end up in books and zines in the future. Plus after we did the two shoots I shot Aiden for another project that I was working on before the coronavirus hit that has been pushed to the backburner but will hopefully happen eventually.  Speaking of the coronavirus, I love how apocolyptic these photos are, even though they were shot a couple months before the actual apocalypse. 

Okay, now I should mention the content you can pay extra money to see. These photos have already been up for a day over on Girls of DBB in high resolution with some bonus, more explicit shots. There are also three clips from the shoot on my OnlyFans including two from the “beach” location so you can get a little preview of what that is like over there.

Carter Cruise is one of my favorite people. I have taken her photo a bunch of times and she DJ’d my book release party in LA and she bought us matching tattoos for my birthday 5 years ago and the first time we ever hung out was at Donald Glover’s Super Bowl party and the goddamn Seahawks blew the game. What are you doing Pete? You have god damn Marshawn Lynch and you are gonna fucking pass the ball from the 1? Sorry, still pissed off about that one. What was I talking about?

Oh yeah Carter rules and she let me shoot nudes of her even though she is pretty much done with the whole being naked on the internets thing and I really appreciate her for that. She also signed a bunch of Instax for me for Kickstarter prizes for a Kickstarter that never happened cause of the fucking coronavirus. It will probably happen one day in the future but I didn’t really feel like trying to convince people to buy a book when everyone was unemployed.

Speaking of convincing people to give me money while they are unemployed this whole shoot is available in high resolution on Girls of Driven By Boredom and has a bunch of full nudes that are exclusive just to that site. Okay enough, promotion. Moving on. 

Just want to give a huge shout out to my brother’s girlfriend Lauren who not only let me take these photos in her apartment but also let me stay there for a few days when I was in LA back in January. She had just moved in with my brother and she hadn’t rented out her place yet so I got to stay there which was fucking awesome because hotels in LA are unreasonably expensive. 

Okay this was super rambling but I really like these photos so hopefully you do to and can’t wait until coronavirus is over so I can go to LA and hang out with Carter and her super rad (and also very hot) roommate who let me take photos of her too but they are just on Girls of DBB because she didn’t want to be naked on the free internet which seems totally reasonable to me. They also just started a clothing company together and they have a pool which I want to be in right now. I recently have been going back through my hard drive looking for old video that I can use to update my new OnlyFans with when I came across all the footage for my series Road Strip that I made for Wood Rocket back in 2013. I spent a month on the road, the first half of that on Route 66 working on my first book, Get Your Kicks. I don’t really shoot video but I set up a GoPro in my rental car and that series helped me pay for the trip and fly some models to me. 

One of those models was Ash Hollywood. I love Ash and we have shot a bunch of times but when I started the trip she wasn’t part of the plans, it just happened that she had driven to Vegas for work and a flight from Vegas to Albuquerque was only like $150. She flew to me and we spent a few days on Route 66 ending with a short detour to Vegas to drop her back off at her car. It worked out perfectly. We even got to shoot at the Grand Canyon!

On one night of the trip we decided to stay in Holbrook, Arizona. It’s home to some giant dinosaur sculptures at the Rainbow Rock Shop and was one of my main spots to hit on the trip because the dinosaurs are such an iconic Route 66 symbol. (Not to be confused with the Cabazon dinosaurs, where I have also taken photos.) When we got to Holbrook it was pretty early evening but already dark so we had to stop. We ended up staying at a place called the Romney Motel which was a huge mistake given that one of the few remaining Wigwam Motels is in Holbrook (fortunately I was able to stay there with my good friend Alex who recently passed – I will remember that forever). 

Anyway, because we had a few hours before we went to sleep we checked out the town and hit a weird gift shop and maybe a bar and a sign for geodes. Seriously I backed my rental car into a giant sign advertising geodes for sale. I cracked my tail light and had to return the car a day early because my insurance only covered 30 days and I had the car for 31. Sorry, none of this matters but I am reminiscing. 

The point of all this is that we had hours to kill before we went to bed so we just took a ton of photos in the room. The light sucked and we were just sort of fucking around. Half the photos I took while laying on the bed which is honestly my favorite way of shooting because I am lazy. When I started posting photos from the trip I had a bunch of stuff with Ash and so I guess I just never posted these. I probably just didn’t want to color correct them, because as you will see, I am horrible at that shit. 

So seven years later to the day, I was looking for that video footage, when suddenly I realized I had shots from Holbrook that I had never posted. I double checked my site and nope, they never made it. A few images were part of a bigger gallery on Girls of DBB but the vast majority of them had never been published! 

Now I know that this post is very long already, but there is another important thing that I need to talk about, which brings together both Girls of DBB and my Only Fans which is kinda complicated because my branding sucks but I now have two pay sites. The Girls of DBB mobile app which I forever just called Girls of DBB and now an OnlyFans which is also called Girls of DBB. It’s very confusing, so now Girls Of DBB is it’s own site and URL with links to both the mobile app and the OnlyFans with the explanations of what each are. In order to promote this I have Ash Hollywood stuff on both sites.

On Girls of DBB – the photo site – I have this full Ash Hollywood set in high resolution PLUS another 30 bonus photos that are way more explicit than the normal stuff I put on here. For some reason Ash was trying to smoke her e-sig with her vagina which we now have documented and that is very important. One of these days I am gonna get my life organized and not wait a full fucking year to post the photos I take. Whenever I do a shoot I always make sure to get the models some images right away and then I always send them the 35mm stuff when I post it, but because I am always sitting on so much content I forget about shoots because in my brain I already published the photos since I posted stuff on my social media channels, etc. I just suddenly had this realization that I never posted this shoot that I did with a model named Hope and immediately uploaded the photos to Girls of DBB.

But once I posted those photos last week I still didn’t post them here because I had the 4th of July protest photos and all of that and finally after 50 weeks, we have Hope’s photos here!

I have two favorite types of shoots. I love doing stuff really fast in crazy locations like shooting inside the head of the T-Rex at Cabazon Dinosaurs. It’s so much fun. But my other favorite type of shoot is when I can just sit on the end of a bed or something and spend a couple hours shooting someone in their room or a hotel where I just get to chill the fuck out and hang out with rad people while shooting and my shoot with Hope was very much the second. 

Hope is chill as fuck and we just hung out in her room talking and taking photos. She has some fish and I had just got into fish keeping and I was psyched to talk to someone who is into it instead of driving my friends crazy talking about my shrimp breeding midlife crisis. We shot some stuff for a zine I am working on that has been indefinitely put on hold by the god damn coronavirus but will exist at some point. You just don’t get to see any of those photos yet. We also did a shoot in her kitchen which didn’t have any nudity but is pretty hot anyway cause she has a really cool butt which is how I met her in the first place. Someone showed me her Instagram because I needed good butts for that aforementioned zine. 

The only other thing I need to do is plug my pay sites real quick and we can get on to the photos… As I mentioned, these photos have been on Girls of DBB for days in high resolution. The gallery also features about 5 full nudes that aren’t in this gallery because the pandemic unemployment bonus runs out in two weeks and I need to pay rent. Back on Juneteenth I went to a Unite NY march to celebrate the holiday and I joined back up with them for their 4th of July march. Unite NY is a collection of different activist groups that have been putting on marches around the city. This march went from Madison Square Park in the city all the way to Dumbo in Brooklyn. I made the full march this time after quitting a little early on Juneteenth because I am a broken old man. The march stopped at different points around the city to talk about the foundation of the country and how that did not include black Americans. 

I consider myself a patriot. I love the idea of this country and that’s why I love activism. My hope is that one day we can realize the vision the founding fathers had for this country, but for all Americans, not just white men. I grew up loving the 4th of July, and I am not going to stop enjoying it, but that’s really easy for someone who has always been part of this country. The idea of a bunch of people who hated being governed by leaders who didn’t represent them fighting back and creating a system where the citizens had a say in their governance is a powerful one and it’s exactly what the Black Lives Matter protesters are trying to accomplish. 

Patriotism isn’t just for the right, and I promise I won’t be burning any flags any time soon, but observing 4th of July as a day of activism instead of an excuse to BBQ and set off fireworks seems like a very good one to me. I want to see the American Dream possible for every American and that won’t happen until we make huge changes in our government, our class system and deal with our legacy of racism from day one of this country.

Last night after midnight the New York City Council passed a new budget for the city despite calls from activists that the defunding of the NYPD didn’t go far enough. I am not going to pretend to know anything about the intricacies of doing the budget for one of the biggest cities in the world, but I do know that protesters wanted to see the NYPD budget defunded by at least 1 billion dollars, and the budget theoretically does that, but half that amount was just a result of moving the NYPD’s Department School Safety Division to the Department of Education. The entire point of defunding the police is to move those resources to other areas and this budget doesn’t do that.

Occupy City Hall started as a response to this budget so last night was a big night for the protest. It ultimately failed to get the results demanded, but a significant chunk of the NYPD’s budget was removed compared to de Blasio’s original budget and last night as hundreds of people gathered around a projector screen to watch the City Council vote, the vast majority of Council members, even the ones that voted yes on the budget, mentioned the protesters. They mentioned wanting to do more to improve the way NYC is policed and how this was just the beginning. So ultimately these protests are working and hopefully won’t stop any time soon. And Occupy City Hall is still there today.

I probably could have more to say about specific stuff that happened yesterday but I think I will just let the photos speak for themselves and there are a lot of them…

With New York City’s budget deadline on Tuesday, Black Lives Matter protesters have staged a live in at City Hall in lower Manhattan. I went down yesterday for day three of the protest and plan on returning to take more photos and support the protesters this weekend. Occupy City Hall already has a much better vibe from Occupy Wall Street with a more organized, more diverse crowd who seems angrier, but ultimately more hopeful. 

I spent a few hours yesterday taking photos, listening to speakers and talking to friends who I ran into down there. It was pretty cool to see so many people I know including fellow photographers Marcus Price and Mel D Cole. Both of them are doing great work but Mel has been traveling the country covering the movement and made news himself a few days ago in Philly when a counter protester attacked him and was charged by progressive DA Larry Krasner. I also ran into my friends and activists Justina and Molly Crabapple. Molly was actually inspired by Occupy Wall Street years ago to start painting protesters and has made a career as an activist and a journalist and her work is just so fucking impressive. She was also in my sold out zine Arts!

The protesters are asking NYC to defund the NYPD by 1 Billion dollars which seems like a lot until you realize that it would only be one 6th of their budget. That money could do so much for the city if used in other places and I truly hope the demands are met, however I have a feeling that even if that somehow happens this protest will not end. You heard over and over again from speakers yesterday that a billion dollars was just the beginning. This country, and particularly NYC, needs a complete reimagining of what the police do and the very positive results for progressives in Tuesday’s primary elections show that New York is ready for change.

On a personal level I would love it if there was some sort of people I could call to get the constant party that is happening in the AirBNB behind my apartment shut down, but I am not going to call someone who might end up murdering the people that I just wish would shut the fuck up at 3am. Maybe I can figure out how to put that on a sign.

Time for a momentary break from the unending nightmare that is this current moment in history. I got some photos for you that you might like of Alex Grey shot in about 10 minutes as the sun was setting in Las Vegas back in January. 

I had met Alex at one of the bars at the Hard Rock during one of the first nights of AVN and we quickly decided we were going to shoot while we were both in town. Unfortunately that week is completely insane and we didn’t have any time to meet up. I had a late flight on the Monday after AVN and she was leaving that same evening to go back to LA so we scheduled a shoot for that day.  But of course something had to go wrong and when Alex went to check out of her hotel she noticed that she had a flat tire. So we planned to meet after and I went and hit some flea markets with my friends from Wood Rocket but it was getting later and later and I hadn’t heard from her. 

I texted her to see what was up and she was still somehow at the tire shop and had been there for like 5 hours just waiting on a tire. I told her I would just meet her there and we could find some way to shoot somehow and she said sure so I left the flea market, got in an Uber and met her at a tire store. The sun was going down but the light looked really nice. But of course right as I got there her car was ready. It took another 10 minutes for her to get paid and get out of there and the whole time I am just watching the sun go down, just mildly panicking.

One of her friends was waiting with her and had a big pick up truck and we saw that behind the tire store there was a big gravel lot and we all jumped in his pick up and drove about 100 feet to the middle of the lot. It was hidden a bit unless you were driving on that road or happened to be in the drive thru at a fast food restaurant on the other side of the lot and we figured we could make it work. I am sure a few people saw what we were doing but we did the whole shoot so fast that I don’t think we upset too many people… Besides she was only topless… 

You can tell how fast the light got away from us because the light changes so dramatically in the photos from the beginning to the end but I still think we got some really nice shots. I got some 35mm I was really happy with as well. I also shot a short video as well which you can see exclusively on my new OnlyFans account. And speaking of giving me money for nudes, you can also see these photos in high resolution on Girls of DBB. Just saying. 

Okay, that’s all I got for you today. I should just mention that Alex rules and I am so glad we got to do a shoot just a few hours before I had to leave Vegas for my flight. I cannot wait to shoot with her again. And thanks to the Wood Rocket crew for not only taking me to the airport but also buying me some insane buffet dinner right before I left. Ended up being a pretty fun day…
