Good Morning Driven By Boredom

Okay here is the video from Good Morning America. I will post about the experience and the fall out when I wake up in this same post. I am just going to update it. I’ve been up 24 hours, must sleep a bit…

Update:
Okay.  I am awake.  The other day I got a phone call from Good Morning America while I was at work.  They wanted me to come in that day to shoot something about the cheating video on You Tube.  My boss let me leave for a few hours, but I had to come in early yesterday to make up for it.  Anyway, I coincidently was wearing the sweater that I had on in the video.  It was probably the first time I have worn it since then.  I also hadn’t shaved in a few days so on the way to the studio I bought a razor and a hoodie from Duane Reed.  I then shaved in a Starbucks bathroom homeless style.  I got lost on the way to the studio due to bad directions, so I was running and when I got there I was thirsty and sweaty and my hair was a mess.  I thought they would have some sort of stylist or something, but they didn’t even give me a mirror so I just sort of pushed my hair down which is why I sort of look odd on TV.  Anyway, they interviewed me for like 10 minutes and aired about 5 seconds.  I figured they wouldn’t show much, but it was even less than I expected, but they did show a lot of my video which was cool.    I am not sure why I went on, when it was clear that I am a bad guy for teaching kids to cheat, but its not every day 5 million people watch you do anything, so why not, good story.  My mom was not pleased with this response, but what can you do?  She was even less pleased when my fundamentalist Christian aunt saw it, but what can you do?  Such is life.  I have gotten a bunch of hate mail from it, but mostly positive stuff.  Anyway, watch it, it’s pretty silly.  I’ve been emailing with the girl in it, and she’s doing something for CBS next week and has gotten even more hate mail than me!  I hope nothing bad happens with her, she’s young enough that this video might get her in trouble.

Oh yeah, the video was posted on the main page of Yahoo.com all day yesterday too… Jeez.. If only it mentioned this site some how, I might have some traffic.  Honestly that is the most disappointing thing is that all this exposure has done almost nothing for my traffic… Sigh…  Make me feel better, if you have a blog, link to this!  Or not…  I am going to go finish season 4 of Weeds.  The very late photos from Wednesday will be up before midnight…

RIP Paul Newman

Good Lemonade, great movies.  A legend died yesterday at age 83.  Paul Newman was one of the forefathers of competitive eating.  Newman’s record of 50 hard-boiled eggs stood for many years until Sonya Thomas ate 65 eggs in under 7 minutes. Bad ass motherfucker who even looked in a sun hat.  You will be missed.

Presidential Debates Tonight

I have to work so I am going to miss them… but why watch the debates when you can watch Hockey Mom the movie…

Holy shit I wish this were real… Of course I mean the movie, if Sarah Palin becomes president I carve my own head off with a hockey skate.

In Case You Missed The RNC….

This could be one of the best things I have ever seen dealing with politics on the even smaller screen. And just FYI it is from 23/6 which is quickly becoming my favorite website. The Get Your War On cartoons are even better than the comic, and my man Eugene Mirman kills it 24/7.

UPDATE: THIS video is the best thing I have ever seen dealing with politics. Jesus. Today was a marquee day for RNC YouTube coverage.

The Daily Lays The Smack Down

I have been sent this three times already, it clearly has to be seen. The Karl Rove thing is the best because I expect him to be a little slicker than this. Dick Morris and Bill O’Riley are hypocritical assholes anyway, so it is expected. Still this video is amazing. Send it to a conservative friend.

Free Obama Buttons!

HOLY FUCK! FREE STUFF!! You can get FREE Barack Obama buttons from MoveOn.org.   Now admittedly MoveOn is pretty much blindly left wing and seems to just support whatever it is furthest “liberal”.  As someone who thinks campaign finance reform is a big issue, I have a problem supporting 527 groups.  MoveOn’s design taste is extremely questionable.  And I still have not received my ugly Obama bumper sticker from them.  BUT, and this is a big BUT, they are FREE!  How can you turn down a free button.  That would be un-American, and I will be damned if I am not a patriot.

In all honesty I actually donated $20 and ordered 45 buttons which I will be passing out whenever I get them, but in the mean time, get your own damn button.

Poling Place Photo Project

On Super Tuesday I went down to my polling place and tried to take some photos. A friend of mine had just designed the website to the New York Times/AIGA Polling Place Photo Project and thought it would be fun to see if I could get anything cool. Unfortunately they would not let me photograph there and some cops hassled me a bit. I ended up submitting three pictures, they all were kinda terrible. The only one I liked was a photo of the “Vote Con Esperanza” flyers I had seen around my neighborhood the week leading up to Super Tuesday. This means “Vote With Hope” en english. I really liked that, so I took a photo of one on the wet ground. It is not a great shot, but the flyer is great. The other two photos were just shots take outside the school/polling place. Not so exciting.

Anyway, my friend who did the design told me that a few of the best images were selected and now rotate as the main photo when you go to the site. They used my Vote Con Esperanza shot. I just wish I had some good photos to submit, because it is almost embarrassing to have this one up… Although… I think this means I can put the New York Times on my CV right? Ok… Probably not.

Check out the site, and send in some pictures in November…
