In my life I have done few truly great things.  I don’t have a long list of accomplishments I can look back on and say “Hey.  I live life man.  I was there.  I did something.” But while most of my life has been a giant waste of time, I can point to these two videos and say “I was there.  I did something.” I coincidentally witnessed both the best and the worst freestyle raps ever… “Woah, Hold on there for a minute.” you say.  “I don’t believe for one second that you saw even one of these things.”  Oh ye of little faith. I got it all on tape.

Round 1:  The Worst Freestyle Rap Ever

Meet Mizkut.  Mostly I just remember this kid as being fucking annoying, but I really hold a grudge against him because he was a total condescending prick to one of my best friends for no reason.  Also after his “business” partner had be collect a group of musicians for a compilation CD they supposedly wanted to put out, he backed out of the deal, leaving me to apologize to bands that I practically had to beg to be on their bullshit CD.  Thirdly the guy thinks he is the shit for absolutely no reason.  Oh… an another thing, that I just remembered this second.  On my 22nd birthday I got to make out with this girl Anisa who I thought was the prettiest girl I had ever seen, but not only did he cock block me by making her go home early, but he told her exboyfriend about it, so when they got back together he wouldn’t even let her talk to me any more and I never saw her again.  Fucking douche!  Anyway, luckily I have video of this guy being a total bitch.  Enjoy this.

Round 2: The Best Freestyle Rap Ever

Meet the Condom Sultan.  So called the Condom Sultan because he sold one of the Gaskets condoms from his perch as third shift supervisor at a Colonial Williamsburg, VA convenient store.   The aforementioned Gaskets were playing a house party at aforementioned Colonial Williamsburg when out of nowhere the famed Condom Sultan arrived on his bi-cycle, as I like to pronounce it, and joined us at the party.  At the end of the said Gaskets set Ross of said band began to play random beats that he had created and random folks began to take turns freestyling badly.  It was horribly embarrassing for everyone involved… that is until the Condom Sultan stepped up to the plate and knocked that party out of the fucking ball park.  Motherfucker rocked the mic so hard my shoe laces are still untied.  This guy puts the bang in Bangladesh.  He puts the sick in Sikh… ladies and gentlemen… I give you MC SULTAN.

I found this video recently. I shot it in late 2002 or early 2003. I remember this because it was the second time I ever met the Gaskets. I remember Ross grabbed my ass at the show which I thought was pretty odd. Atom stopped doing shows after this I think, although I am sure he is doing something musical that I don’t know about. Truthfully I never was a big Atom And His Package fan, but I did have a comp with this song on it and I always dug it. I also had his 7″ about the metric system.  Anyway, enjoy the video.

I was up all night Saturday night working on web stuff.  I edited a bunch of the dumb video footage I have and I worked on a sweet Favorite Things about Patrick Dempsey.  That will be sweet.  I also was looking at the first few months of this site in from Spring of 2001.  I am going to start putting some of that really old content up maybe.  If it is any good.  I also watched Julian Donkey-Boy again and it was way better than I remember it being.  Although it was the first time I developed my man-crush on Werner Herzog.   I am not sure my point of this blog except I guess to put up the most pointless of the videos I made the other night.  I shot this video at an anti-war protest in Washington, DC in probably 2002 or something.  I don’t actually remember.  What I do remember was that it was so cold that my feet were completely numb from standing on the frozen ground.  It was one of the coldest days I can remember.  I also remember watching two riot cops sit and point out protesters wearing Nike and making jokes about sweat shop labor and globalization.  You know you are in DC when the cops make WTO jokes.  Anyway, the point is some asshole was standing in the middle of the DC Mall wearing just underwear asking people to “sign his petition for peace”.  I mean I am all anti-war and stuff, but you sir are a total douche bag.  It was probably 10 degrees below 0 or something.  That is about as moronic as the ad I saw on craigslist looking for “Seeking Nonsmoking & Non-beef eating Activist/Dogwalker/Catsitter“.  Try to read that rambling post and then have a good fucking laugh.  People like that make me want to vote for Mitt Romney and burn homeless people with money.

Two weeks ago I was at a football party at the 2 Michelles house and they were video taping our antics for their web video series at miamidolphins.com.

If you ever suggest to someone that you should get at one end of a hallway and run at eachother as hard as you can and he agrees… let him know you were completely joking, because it is a very bad idea. Lesson learned.

I hurt my teeth so badly that I had a headache for two days. My shoulder had a bump on it the size of a Clementine and my knee was twisted so much that I limped for over a week after it. Fun! I am too old to play football.

Once I took a film class and I had to make a film on Super 8MM. I just filmed trash in an alley behind my house. While I am obsessed with film I have 0 aspirations to direct movies and I pretty much just wrote the whole class off. I wanted to be studying film not wondering around with a 20 year old camera. So I just stuck some Black Flag music over the in camera edited footage. I don’t know why I am even uploading it except… um… why not? So enjoy my “Jealous Again” music video. In remembrance of a once proud Miami Dolphins franchise.  A team who once went 17-0.  A team once led by the winningest coach in pro football.  A two time Super Bowl winning team who was home to Daniel Constantine Marino Jr. for his entire career.  We say goodbye to that team today and say hello to the wost team in the NFL… your Miami Dolphins.

My friend Janiki is a moron. Benny is not so brilliant either. Benny getting a video camera was probably a bad idea. Benny gave me a tape full of him smashing pumpkins on his head, harassing girls outside of comedy bars, stealing road signs and general shenanigans… but the real reason he gave me this tape was so I could put up this insane video. This is probably the best thing I have ever put on YouTube. Watch it, then tell your friends. Whatever happens spread the word. Shit like this only exists on the internet. Jesus fucking Christ. The Gaskets are about to do a bunch of stuff all at once. They are now playing with 3 other band members. They are a real band now. They have 4 CMJ shows, which I will let you know about soon. (R Bar on Oct 17th is confirmed) They are possibly releasing a live album if we can get copies of the tracks by CMJ. And director Lena Dunham is directing 6 or 7 music videos for an old remix album that we never released because the record company who said they would release it is shady.
