Last week I went back to the Super Funland bar at the Museum of Sex to photograph my friend Ellen Stagg’s party to celebrate the release of her new book Free To Be Naked. I’ve known Ellen about 15 years and we’ve photographed so many of the same models despite having very different photographic styles and I am a big fan of her and her work. Fortunately Ellen must be a fan of my photography too because she keeps hiring me to photograph her parties (and used one of my photos of her for her author photo in the book). I photographed her last book release in the basement of the Museum of Sex, and just recently I photographed a signing she did for a Hustler Magazine cover, also at Super Funland. 

Super Funland is a great place for a party, at least from a photography standpoint because it’s insane looking. There’s a slide that starts upstairs in the museum and comes out a giant butt in the bar, which means randomly throughout the party museum goers just end up in the bar. There are also a few carnival games including a Zoltar that has been replaced with Rupaul, a very cool looking bar and of course a stripper pole. Ellen had two dancers going throughout the night, Ruby Quinn, who I met at Ellen’s last party, and Tess Artiste. They both absolutely killed it.

Also important to mention is that my friend Sucklord made a bootleg Ellen action figure! It was the release party for that thing as well and it’s pretty hilarious. Sucklord and started to work on a toy once but I kinda dropped the ball on it. I do still have the prototype and it’s a prized possession. I keep it on a shelf in my office. 

But yeah, it was a great time, met some rad people, saw some old friends and took a bunch of cool pictures. Thanks a ton to Ellen for having me out, and congrats on the new book!

I was in Kentucky on back to back weekends not too long ago and one of my favorite humans Siri Dahl happens to live there. She was traveling pretty much the whole time I was there, but luckily our schedules allowed for about two hours of photo taking which was great. She was actually one of the last people I photographed before the pandemic and it was our first shoot despite talking about shooting for many, many years. Seriously I think we first talked about shooting in like 2013 or something and didn’t shoot until 2020 and didn’t shoot again until a couple of months ago. She is great and hopefully we will get to shoot many more times in the future, but yeah. We got new Siri photos!

Siri is hilarious and has some, let’s just say, interesting pillows. We shot with them and her cat and eventually she brought out some super religious booty shorts that you might appreciate. We were in Kentucky after all. I feel like I need more caffeine or something because I have sort of reached the point in this post where I have run out of things to say, but just to recap, Siri is rad, she’s hot, and we took a bunch of nudes, some which are a little more explicit than I normally shoot. You will like them, if you like rad, hot people and vaginas and butts and things. Is anyone still reading this or are you just looking at photos?

As a reminder, we live in a puritanical hellscape and forward all my nudes are paywalled to Girls Of Driven By Boredom. I am really sorry about that but the site has thousands and thousands of nudes on there so I feel like it’s worth whatever Findrow is charging these days. Also, because I no longer have an OnlyFans, I edited together all the BTS video I shot for my OF into a minute long video of short clips and uploaded that to Girls of DBB as well. Exxxotica Expo New Jersey just celebrated their 15th anniversary. The company does events all over the place but the very first one was in NJ and I was there so of course I had to show up for the big anniversary. My plan originally was just to go for a few hours but they actually reached out to me and asked me to shoot the first two days for them and I was more than happy to take their money. My buddy Steve Prue is their staff photographer and every few years he spends the weekend shooting portraits and they ask me to fill in for him. So glad it worked out.

Over the weekend I shot nearly 2000 photos which edited down to nearly 500, so I figured we should break this up in to two posts. The first one you are looking at right now and the second post should be up Wednesday. I got too much to do tomorrow. Also, a lot of these photos will be exclusive to Girls of Driven By Boredom, but we will get to that in a minute.

This is the first adult event I have photographed since AVN in 2020 just a couple months before the world ended. I missed Exxxotica last year because my girlfriend’s car was in the shop and I missed AVN because I got the dates wrong and when I started looking at flights and hotels it wasn’t worth it. Between that and my LA trips recently being more about my 1 year old nephew than photographing sex workers I feel a little bit out of the adult world. I knew only a handful of the girls so it felt less like a family reunion than normal, but I still got a bunch of good shots. Plus it was great to see my friends who were there. 

After the show ended I hit the after party for a bit. I shot two burlesque performances including one from Vonka Romanov who I actually photographed way back in 2015. But my bad back was killing me so I wasn’t there long and went up to my hotel room to get a jump start on editing these photos. It’s so wild how old I have gotten in just a few short years. I guess a global pandemic, a severe back injury and getting wifed up will do that to a person. Hey, we had a good run. 

Okay, so let’s get to that other thing… If you are a regular here you will know that my website is broken and I cannot fix it. I have been using Flickr to host my galleries which has a lot of drawbacks, but the main one is that if you post adult content the photos will get marked as such and you can’t see them without having a Flickr account and then updating your settings to be able to see adult content. Because of this over 100 of the photos I shot on Friday are only going to be posted on Girls of Driven By Boredom. I realize that sucks, but maybe a few of you will actually sign up which will help my life since OnlyFans disabled my account last week. That being said, if I took your photo at the convention and you don’t see it in the free gallery, contact me, and I will try and find your photo for you.

Fifteen years ago I met my friend Jamie Peck at a bar in Brooklyn. She was a Suicide Girl way back then and I had shot for them and we had some mutual friends and I feel like we were probably gonna do a shoot but then it didn’t happen and she sort of got away from that NSFW life and our friendship continued as she was a journalist and we worked for some of the same outlets and I ran into her all the time in nightlife. 

Years later I was working on a zine about public nudity and I did a collaboration with my friend Kate’s Tumblr called Boobs of Bushwick which was just photos of her and her friends flashing each other at bars. Jamie happened to be one of those friends and I actually did photoshoot / bar crawl with her and the BoB crew which was really fun. A few years after that when I was working on my Instaxxx book I hit her up again and I did a photo shoot with her and her roomate exclusive to that book. But in all that time, we never did a “proper” photoshoot until now. 

Over the years Jamie has become something of a minor left wing celebrity, working for The Majority Report and doing a bunch of podcasts and shows about hard left topics. Recently she’s parlayed her communist influencer status into an OnlyFans career, posting nudes to pay for her life so she can go on speaking tours like the one she’s on now. If that’s not controlling the means of production I don’t know what is. 

While she was on tour, she needed content to post while she was a way so we did two photo shoots, one that I will be posting on my site Girls of DBB and one that will be exclusive to her OnlyFans. We also shot some BTS videos that will be on my OnlyFans. I put a preview of both shoots on my OF today. Oh, the shoot today also has a few Instax photos and a couple film photos too. All of it is paywalled, but that is just the world we are living in.

Jade Baker was one of my absolutely favorite models to photograph. I say was because she is no longer Jade Baker, she has rebranded and is now going by Rosie Jones. As someone who has had the same online identity since 2001, I totally get it. Clearly I am not the same person I was 20 something years ago and I know that Rosie is a much different person from who she was when Jade Baker was born. 

Rosie was visiting NYC and decided to book the room Dylan Thomas was living in when he died at the infamous Chelsea Hotel. Weirdly enough I had never taken photos at the Chelsea and obviously I couldn’t pass the opportunity to shoot there or to photograph Rosie so of course we made it happen. The balcony of the roof has a great view of the sign so most of the shots we took out there. Honestly I took so many of nearly the exact same photo of her on the balcony. I just wanted to nail it and I think I did. We shot it in her bra, topless, nude, during the day and at night. We shot some stuff in the actual room as well, but clearly it’s not quite as fun as that incredible balcony. I’m sure we were spotted by people outside, but it’s the Chelsea, I am sure that kinda thing is expected. 

After the shoot I went home and pulled all my favorites from the digital photos and was pretty much ready to post but I wanted to wait for Jade to become Rosie so I held off for a while. Before she made the announcement I got the 35mm photos we shot back and I was so psyched about them. The daylight flash looked great, the flash stuff in the hotel looked great, the low light stuff as the sun went down looked great and we even got a few decent black and white shots. They just blew away the digital photos and there was more than 50 of them so guess what, you guys get the 35mm shoot instead of the digitals. It had to be done. Eventually I will probably post the digital stuff, but it’s just not as good so who knows when that will be. 

I should mention once again, that my new nude stuff is paywalled because frankly I can’t afford to fix my broken website and I haven’t found a better solution than using Flickr for my galleries. One of these days I will figure out a better solution but for now just give me a few dollars and you will have access to nearly ever nude I have ever taken… on and there’s also some BTS video from this shoot on my OnlyFans. Just saying.

When I was on the West Coast last month I was really busy hanging out with family and doing vacation type stuff with my girlfriend and I didn’t take a lot of photos, but I did want to try and do a couple shoots while I was out there. I did one mini shoot with my friend Krystall but we only shot 35mm photos and didn’t do a full set (although there are some photos & a video on my OnlyFans). But I did one proper shoot with my friend Jess who goes by Junkyard Rat on the internet. 

Jess and I have shot a bunch in the past but literally every time we have shot it’s just been some random weirdness in the middle of the night. I have such crazy photos of her but this is the first time we did a proper shoot. The other thing my shoots with Jess have in common is that every time it’s been with one of her friends. For example she introduced me to both Pouty Kitty and Leigh Mercury. So I joked to her that she needed to bring a friend to the shoot and she actually did, her roommate Daria Bank. Daria was a semi retired model who decided to jump into our shoot and she was rad and super photogenic and I feel like we got some really pretty stuff. We also shot some slightly more fucked up stuff but we will save that for a book or something one day. 

I don’t have a lot more to say about this, other than once again the NSFW stuff is behind a paywall because my galleries are still broken. I do have an idea for a new version of Driven By Boredom but I am gonna need to hire someone to build it and I just don’t have that kind of money so we are kinda at a stalemate. Maybe I will relearn how to code websites, it’s only been 20 years since I could do them from scratch. So yeah, photos are on Girls of DBB and the 35mm stuff and some video are up on the OnlyFans.

I haven’t photographed an party in ages and when my friend Ellen Stagg hit me up about shooting an event for her the day I came back from two weeks on the West Coast I was a little hesitant for a number of reasons. First one is of course my back injury and doing event work is really tough, the second was that I just don’t really shoot with a flash anymore and I  knew I would need to if I was going to shoot her party and the third was that the event was to celebrate her photo making the cover of a certain magazine that once threw me into a lawsuit that I had almost nothing to do with but still cost me tens of thousands of dollars to get out of. Still, I love Ellen and I wanted to support her and as I have been going through my archives for my Vintage Driven By Boredom instagram I have been really missing shooting parties which is not something I ever expected. So I said yes to the gig and broke out my old DSLR and shot the party like I would have a decade ago. I was worried the shots wouldn’t be great so I actually wouldn’t let Ellen pay me until the end of the night because I wanted to make sure I a) didn’t fuck up and b) was able to shoot the whole thing without my back falling apart, but an hour in I realized that I still kinda knew what I was doing and I was able to take enough breaks to make it through despite some pretty excruciating pain at times. Anyway, this whole paragraph is just me complaining about stuff so let’s get into the actual party!

The party was pretty much a book signing with Ellen and cover model Laura Desiree selling magazines and signing them all night. You’d think that would be a pretty boring thing to shoot, but I knew better than that. The party was at The Museum of Sex’s event area, Super Funland which is a mix between a carnival, an art exhibit and the Korova Milk Bar from A Clockwork Orange. There is a slide from upstairs that people can take that shoots them out of what is essentially a giant vagina into the middle of the party which was honestly delightful. There was also a dancer named Ruby Quinn who absolutely killed it doing killer pole tricks and giving me something to photograph all night. Also Ellen and Laura are tremendous babes and have a lot of fun to photograph friends which made for easy work on my end. Got to see some old friends and finally met Connie Perignon who I have known via the internets for a couple of years, but never actually ran into IRL. Someone did try and fight me for absolutely no reason in the middle of the party, but honestly I kinda miss that kinda thing too. A younger me would have done some stupid shit, but I am an adult now so I just went back to taking photos. 

Anyway, the whole thing was a blast and I really appreciate Ellen and Laura bringing me out and I hope I can shoot some more parties in the future. I didn’t realize I missed it. Also hopefully I met some people that I can photograph in the future, and I only mention this as an excuse to promote my OnlyFans. Listen, a man has gotta eat. I also should mention that this gallery is once again on Flickr because my website is just permanently broken and I haven’t really figured out a good solution for that, but hopefully I will in the not too distant future, especially if I get back into shooting nightlife a little bit. At least the photos are in higher resolution over there…

Last week I shot photos of Aliya Brynn who was visiting NYC for a week. I pretty much immediately edited them and uploaded them in high res to Girls of DBB, but I forgot to do a post about it on here because I hate my website and the gallery system is broken and I honestly just can’t afford to fix it so it will just languish here until one day I win the lottery or something. 

As far as the shoot goes, NY hotel rooms are the worst and it had this tiny window and shit light but we made it work by just taking her photo close to the bed. I actually think we took some really nice 35mm shots but I haven’t developed the film yet so it’s all a mystery. I am actually going to drop most of it off as soon as I finish this post. 

These photos are extra NSFW. You guys know I don’t shoot a lot of overly sexualized images, and I think that’s why some of you enjoy my work, but I also believe when photographing a model it should be collaborative and obviously sex sells and we both got OnlyFans to run. Speaking of which, there’s some video from this shoot on my OnlyFans, and there will be more soon. So yeah, very NSFW photos.

In 2014 I was in LA and I took a ton of photos. On one specific day I photographed three models, including Skin Diamond. I had been friends with Skin for several years at this point, and we had done a mini shoot the year before at AVN but we had never shot one on one. I went over to her place and I think we ended up going to the grocery store, because I have a photo of her flashing me in a Trader Joe’s elevator or some reason, but I really don’t even remember that day. What I do remember is that it was my third shoot of the day, and that’s why you are just seeing these photos now, eight years later. 

Eight years ago I didn’t use photoshop at all. These days, just due to how my current camera sensor works, I basically do some very minimal leveling stuff and some occasional color correction, but I am very bad at it. In 2014 I was even worse. When we shot these, it was night time so there was no light except the natural light of her room and when I got the photos back they looked terrible. I remember talking to a photographer friend of mine about it and she offered to color correct them for me so I sent her the photos and then she just never did it and months went by and I forgot about them, which brings me to reason #2 for their delay. These photos were in a folder with two other models photos, so when I was looking for unpublished work, I saw that I had published the two other women’s sets, and didn’t see the Skin photos because the folder name was too long. It was so dumb. 

So fast forward to 2022 and I am going through my old 35mm images for both my OnlyFans and my new Vintage DBB instagram account and I came across that photo of skin flashing me in Trader Joe’s. I suddenly remembered I had this unpublished shoot with her, I went back and found it and tried my best to make these photos look halfway decent. I failed, but Skin is so hot that it absolutely doesn’t matter. I think you are going to dig these photos a lot. 

Now we get to the next issue, which is my website gallery system is still broken. The problem is, I don’t actually know how to fix it, and this website hasn’t been updated since 2008 and I hate it and I just want to maybe scrap the whole thing and start over but I don’t have the money to pay someone to build me a new site, so we are just in a holding pattern. I was just using Flickr as a temporary gallery solution but Flickr doesn’t like nudity anymore so these photos are exclusive to my pay site. I know that sucks, because I like giving you mostly free nudes and then paywalling the really NSFW stuff but, my pay sites are really cheap and they are pretty much paying my rent while I figure out what to do with my life with a disability that I worry is maybe permanent, because none of the physical therapy has helped.  So yeah, these photos are very NSFW because I was shooting for Hustler at the time and I would have pitched these to them but for the whole never getting edited thing, so they are more sexual than I would shoot for my personal work.
