I got to SXSW a day early and after getting my friends inked up I tried to rush my friends over to see Kid Sister at the Rock You party at Speakeasy.  When we got there Kid Sister had just started playing and we had to deal with some door drama.  There was a line and they wouldn’t let us in with our bags and were trying to charge us money.  I texted my friend and fellow photog Matt who was there shooting Hey Champ and Matt grabbed Hey Champ’s manager and he got our bags in and me in free.  Big thanks to them.  On top of that the Finger On The Pulse guys came out and gave my friends their wristbands so they didn’t have to pay either. It all worked out… unfortunately we were late as hell for Kid Sister.  Playing “My Buddy” to Kid Sister was her brother J2K on the mic and his Flosstradamus cohort DJ Autobot behind the decks.  I took as many photos as I could in the last 7 minutes of their set and got a few okay shots but I didn’t kill it like I wanted.  Kid Sister is so fun to shoot but the last time I shot her I was a little bit disappointed too because although I got some great shots, but none of them were “it”.  This time the best shots I got were of her back up dancers… Oh well, there is always next time.  I will murder it next time.
