I celebrated Driven By Boredom’s 10th anniversary last night by checking out the new and improved Rando.  It’s now at 87 Ludlow after Gallery Bar decided to stop throwing crazy parties. 87 Ludlow is a great spot. It’s got everything I like in a bar. It’s dark, sweaty and has lockable bathrooms. It also has an upstairs which is mostly closed during Rando but they have an extra bathroom and a pool table and it’s a good spot to get away from the party and cool down a bit. Also they have poles on the dance floor that I am sure will lead to some crazy shit in the future.

I only have two complaints. One is that the sound is really good but it might be a bit too loud. Because it’s not a huge space and their are speakers on both sides of the room, unless you go upstairs or outside you can’t really get away from the speakers to have a conversation without yelling.  The other issue is purely from a photographic standpoint and that is the ceiling is black in places and metalic and others making bouncing my flash a huge pain in the ass. On top of that I am having flash issues again so I keep getting over exposed or under exposed shots for no real reason. It’s cool. I am working on it.

I should also mention that my girls Star Eyes and Jubilee were Djing and it’s always good to see them. Plus Hollywood Holt is in town from Chicago and I haven’t seen that dude since SXSW last year I think.  I did more hanging out than I did photo taking so this gallery is a little small but I think the whole thing is a good introduction to the new spot.
